Oil prices are dropping faster then gas prices for a number of reasons. But first and no1 is that the oil prices decreases are for JULY delivery and gas prices are for current delivery. Current gas prices are relative to March Oil future prices.

The reason that Detroit's Big 3 lost so much market share was because they did not make what the market wanted. They made big gas guzzlers instead.

The government had to step in to try and save 2 of the Big 3. Without the government there would only be the medium sized One.

It takes the government to say what the people want. When it was left to the auto manufacturers they sure did not do a good job.
